HYPER MEMORIA is a piece for violin, cello, electric guitar, electronics, light system, and participative audience. The piece illustrates a fictive string recording session. The immersive experience put the audience in the complete dark, led by a fictive voice throughout the session. The
piece is divided into chapters/sections, each representing a technique of the instrument.
The different musical materials of the musicians mirror this approach: each sound cell is numbered, and captured, as within a real recording session. The piece evolves from a very formal electronic-likesoundscape to organic atmospheres where the 'machine saturates'.
Commissioned by Britten Pears Arts as part of the CAPPA scheme, premiered at Britten Studio (Snape Maltings) Aldeburgh Festival (2024).
