audition
Audition explores the electric guitar beyond its expressive, lyrical role, treating it instead as a machine: a generator of systems, pulses, frictions, and failures. Influenced by glitch aesthetics and minimal electronic music, the project focuses on texture, repetition, and transformation rather than melody or virtuosity.
The music is built from layered processes, feedback loops, distorted harmonics, mechanical rhythms—where the guitar behaves like an unstable engine. In contrast, moments of openness emerge through sustained tones, filtered noise, and environmental textures, evoking natural phenomena such as air, water, and slow geological movement.
The project investigates the tension between control and fragility, precision and erosion. By merging sound with responsive lighting and optional audience participation, Audition becomes a living system—one that continuously shifts, reacts, and breathes.
